Timothy Jackson was born in Preston in 1972, and studied at the University of Manchester
and the Royal Northern College of Music. In addition to his “day job” as a horn player
with the Philharmonia Orchestra, he is Composer-in-Association with Onyx Brass.
As a composer and arranger he has received commissions from groups as diverse as
the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields, BASBWE, British Telecom, The Hallé Orchestra
and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. His pieces have been played all over
the world in halls such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, The Hollywood Bowl and the
Sydney Opera House and recorded for CD by EMI, Cala, Chandos, Intim and Meridian.
